With coffees Anne&Max will wake you up better. Our coffees are organic, often direct trade, fair trade and made from the best Arabica beans. Since 2019, we are affiliated with the Futureproof Coffee Collective, a part of MVO Netherlands. Together we calculate the fair price of coffee; from farmer to cup.

Future Proof Coffee Collective
Since 2019, Anne&Max has joined the Future Proof Coffee Collective, a branch of MVO Netherlands. This collective includes more than 20 member companies working in the coffee industry.
The coffee industry is under pressure. The production process in many cases has a negative impact on people and nature at the back of the chain, while coffee roasters have to work with small margins, high costs and fierce competition. To address this, it is time to start charging "real prices" for coffee, throughout the chain. MVO Netherlands therefore started the Futureproof Coffee Collective, a collaboration between several coffee companies working on calculating the real price for coffee.
Together we want to find out the real price of coffee. This includes costs such as raw materials needed, personnel costs, but also hidden costs such as water consumption and CO2 emissions. We call these costs hidden costs, because they are often not included in the final coffee price, but they do have an impact on the coffee producing country.

Become a morning person with our huiskamer espresso. A blend of the very best and sweetest coffee beans specially made to make the tastiest milk based coffees. Our huiskamer espresso is made from the best Arabica beans from Peru. A single origin and 100% organic. Full of flavor, sweet with notes of chocolate and red fruit. Delicious as an espresso but also perfect as a cappuccino or latte.
The family members of Ramos Ccoillar, the founders of the Nueva Florida community, are originally from the Huancavelica region located deep in Peru's Andes. The eldest son Florentino decided to leave the region and look for opportunities elsewhere, as the family's potato business was not going well. He found a piece of jungle for sale and named it "La Nueva' Florida" translated "New Bloom". And there he started planting his first coffee plants. All this started 15 years ago. Over the years, more and more Florentino family members followed and joined the plot. Meanwhile, La Nueva Florida has grown into a very small community, all from the same Huancavelica region.
All the basic ingredients for coffee are top quality here. Together with Cultivar (local exporter) and Keen (our coffee roaster), we have worked closely with the families of the past three harvests. In the first few years, we tested several selective harvests. And also shared our knowledge on controlled fermentation and drying practices. We spent time and effort to produce high quality coffee beans. On top of this, we calculated together how this should be translated into a fair price for the beans.
"So that everything that tastes good also feels good"
Last season (summer 2021) we continued to focus on improving harvest and post-harvest. We experimented with varietal separation and anaerobic fermentation. We found out with farmers that the biggest bottleneck for scaling up volumes of quality coffee is drying capacity. Low drying capacity and the ever-present humidity at the height of the plot makes drying one of the most difficult post-harvest challenges.
We immediately took action and purchased new drying beds for the coffee farmers of this plot. This close cooperation(direct trade) allows us to quickly communicate with the farmers about what they need to keep the coffee high quality on a consistent basis. Lucky moments for us in the form of the most tastiest cup of coffee. Lucky moments for them through the cooperation, they have constant income from their plot and the continuous pursuit of top quality.
Not a fan of espresso? No problem. We also have decaf and filter coffee beans.

#filter
Our home filter coffee is a blend of 50% beans from Peru and 50% from Ethiopia. They are exclusively organic Arabica beans and it is a blend of washed and unwashed coffee. Feliciano and Victoria (coffee farmers from Peru) fermented their coffee briefly (10 hours). After fermentation, the coffee is washed and then dried on sun beds. Length of drying averages 10-15 days. Limma Kossa (the coffee farmer from Ethiopia) is affiliated with Woman Coffee. An organization that supports women coffee producers. In fact, 70% of coffee plantation workers are women.
