Anne&Max Amsterdam Zuid is located across from the entrance to Vondelpark. The doors open early. You can sink into an armchair with a cup of filter coffee, or climb the white staircase to the loft, where there’s a long bar table overlooking the bar and the street. Downstairs, you can see the hustle and bustle of the street; upstairs, it’s quiet. Take your pick! Some have their regular spot for an oat flat white, while others are discovering it for the first time today.
The aroma of freshly ground beans and warm croissants always greets you as you walk in. Our filter coffee— organic —comes from Ethiopia, and our espresso is single-origin and direct-trade. You can also order decaf or iced coffee at any time. Everyone is welcome here to try our delicious lunch dishes —and, of course, the little ones can enjoy something from the kids’ menu.
A Warm Welcome to Anne&Max Amsterdam Zuid
The Amstelveenseweg has traditionally marked the boundary between the city and the surrounding area: Oud-Zuid on one side, the park on the other. At number 196, Anne&Max is located on a street lined with 19th-century buildings, diagonally across from the entrance to Vondelpark. The park opened in 1865 and has never lost that view. The neighborhood is quiet, green, and just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown. Early in the morning, Amstelveenseweg is at its best. Runners and cyclists pass by on their way to the park, and Anne&Max is already open for the first specialty coffees to go. On Saturdays and Sundays, neighbors pull up for a leisurely breakfast or high tea. From the sunny terrace, you can watch all the passersby. It’s the perfect place to start the weekend off right.
