Anne&Max is a Fresh Food & Coffee Café with cozy spaces throughout the Netherlands. We serveorganic, direct-trade specialty coffee, fresh and Planet Friendly dishes, and create places where you feel at home. Whether you stop by for a quick coffee to go or stay for hours, everything we do revolves around caring for you, our products, and the world around us.

That might sound like a small thing, but it’s precisely those little moments that brighten your day. A smile behind the bar, your usual order already remembered… A place where no one rushes you.
Our Vision
We set the standard for the hospitality industry, where taking time for one another, genuine care, and sustainable choices are second nature. We believe that the hospitality industry can be more than just serving food and drinks. It can also be a place where you can slow down and where every choice feels right. That’s why we consciously choose products and partnerships that align with who we are—not because it’s a trend, but because we believe that’s how it should be.

At Planet Friendly, we call it “carefree enjoyment.” That means we only make choices we truly believe in and work with products that are good for both the planet and you—from our direct trade with coffee farmers in Peru for organic specialty coffee to oat milk that has less impact on the world around us. So that everything that tastes good also feels good.
How It All Began
In 2005, the first Anne&Max opened its doors in Haarlem. The idea was simple: to create a place that feels like a living room—a place where you can enjoy good coffee, eat wholesome food, and where attentive service is still a given. What began as a single café grew into a franchise with “living rooms” throughout the Netherlands.
